We are half way through the 2 week wait!!

It has been so long since I have updated. Life has been very busy these past few weeks. We had our IUI on 03/24/09 so that means that today we are half way through the 2 week wait. I know that it is hard on Rebekah to wait and I knew that it would be hard on me but I never dreamed that it would make me so nervous, anxious, excited and worried all in one. I could not ask for a better friend/surro mom than Rebekah, she has really helped me through these last few weeks. I was talking to my friend Danielle last night and just gave her the web address for mine and Rebekah's blogs so that she can get caught up on what has been going on. Life has been so busy that I have not had time to update anybody.

I go back to the Dr on Thursday at 2:30 to see if the cyst on my ovary has gone down or if they will have to go in and remove it. I am really praying that the meds the Dr put me on will make it shrink!!

John and Johnny have been doing great, besides the stomach virus that Johnny had last week. I have to admit hear lately every time I think about Johnny being 3 in July my eyes really start to tear up. WOW can he really already be almost 3? Where the heck has time gone? It just seems like last week we were in California and now he is almost 3. Well that is all that I have to update for now. As soon as we get some more news I will post again. (note to self: you have got to blog more often.)

What a great weekend and a monday full of updates

WOW what an amazing weekend we had. Saturday Rebekah, Kent, Johnny and I all went to the zoo and we has an amazing time!

Johnny telling me the snakes were going to bite me.

The Whole group.

Every time that we all get together I feel so blessed that we all live near each other. We had a great time at the zoo and I am not who was more tired the boys or Rebekah and I. After leaving there I took Rebekah and Kent back to there car and went home. Saturday night we went to my Sister in Laws house for my nieces 13th birthday (wow I cant believe that she is already 13). We left there around 9:00pm went home did a little house work and then it was off to bed for us. Sunday we woke up and just hung out around the house most of the day. Sunday afternoon we went to dinner with some friends of ours and then got ready for the work week. The weather this weekend was amazing!!

Here is the exciting news........ Rebekah sent me a instant message today to let me know that AF was here and that our first appt with Dr H would be this Wednesday at 9:15. YAY YAY YAY!!!! I am so excited with that being said our IUI should be on the 23rd. WOW less than two weeks!!! I know that these 2 weeks are going to go by so fast since Rebekah and I have a spa day planned for Saturday and then the big kids consignment sale is next week. I will keep everyone posted on what is going on!!

YAY for March

WOW can it really be March already?!? Not a lot has been going on since my last post. We are still working on getting the date for our IUI but now it looks like it will be sometime around March 20th. When we were talking with Rebekah about doing our first IUI in March it seemed like so far away. But let me tell you that Feb. flew by and now we are in March and we are all so excited. Rebekah told me this morning that she ordered some Home Preg. test and It seems like a dream that one day soon we will be able to use those. I found a great blog on SMO that has given me lots of information and hope about being able to induce Lactation with no meds just herbs. So as soon as we get the positive Home preg. test I will be starting that.

We had some snow this weekend and I was very hopeful that it would be enough for Johnny to go out and play in. It was very pretty to watch but was melting as soon as it hit the ground. Some areas in Ga got 4" of snow. Oh well maybe next year. Johnny was watching it yesterday and was excited and confused at the same time. It snowed here last year and we all went out and played in it but he does not remember that.

Well that's all for now I am sure that I am forgetting something. I will update later with more information.

Contract signing and a Thank You to Rebekah.

Well we are going on Saturday at 11:00am to sign our contract!!! YAY YAY and YAY!!! We have all the changes made to it now it is just time to go to that attn's office and sign the papers. Rebekah will be charting the rest of this month and in March and we are going to do our first IUI in April!! I am so excited and I thought that time was going to go by so slow between now and April but time is really going by pretty fast. I am sure that there will be slow days but all in all it seems to be going by quickly.

On Monday I was having a bad day and was really just down with work. I was talking to Rebekah through instant messenger (like we do everyday) about flowers, so yesterday I got a delivery of the most beautiful Tulips that I have ever seen!! I am posting a few pictures of them. Rebekah is the best TS that we could ask for not only does she make a great TS but she is so easy to talk to we have had a few little bumps in the road on the way to getting the contract done but I can look back now and see that they were so Small compared to other stories that I have heard of. I think that it has been so easy because we have a great bond with Rebekah and we can talk through anything. Thanks so much Rebekah for being yourself and being there to cheer me up when I need it. Big hugs to you!!

I will continue to keep everyone posted although there will not be to much to update on till April.

Rebekah Got a Smiley!!

WOW a lot has happened since I last blogged. I have to start by saying that Rebekah is the BEST with planning and keeping us informed!! We have such a great connection with her and truly do love her. that being said she was stressing out the last few days about the OPK's and I tried to reassure her and let her know that we are here for her no matter what. Well on Saturday I got a text msg from her with a picture that looked like it came from a bathroom stall of the OPK with a big smiley face on it. YAY YAY!!! I immediately called her and she told me that she was at the movies and had just got her positive OPK!!! We are till far away from the April IUI but with each milestone it is feeling so close and I am really get more excited (if that is possible)!! Here is the pictures of her OPK's for this month.

We are waiting to hear back from Lynn our attn. and are thinking that we will be able to go down to her office on Saturday and sign the contract!!! That is one BIG step that I am ready to check off my to-do list. After the signing we are all going to go out and Celebrate!! Kenneth (Rebekah's husband) is going out of town in a few weeks for his weekend drill (not sure if that is what it is called) but Rebekah and I are hoping to take the boys away that weekend to do something fun and I have to say that I am really excited for Rebekah and I to be able to spend that time together.

Well that is all for now I will post more as I have updated. I feel like I am leaving something out, I am sure that I will think about it and when i do I will update my blog.

Almost ready to sign.....

A lot has gone on since my last posting. We got all the Short Term Dis. info and Rebekah sent in her application last week. We are now waiting to hear back from the agent to see what else is going to have to take place so that the policy can be started. We got the first copy of the contract the end of last week and have been working really hard the last couple of days so that we can get in all the details that we want before sending it over to Lynn for her to proof read and then get us down to her office to sign. We are hoping to get down there in the next few weeks to get the contract signed and then get ready for our IUI in April (although we have started to prepare for that already.)

Last weekend we went to the Mtns with some friends of ours to go snow tubing. It was so much fun. I was very tired when we got back home because we were up past midnight both Friday night and Saturday night. We did have a great time but I missed talking to Rebekah, she sent me a text msg. on her way back home and I had just got done sending her an email when I got her text. Great minds think alike. We are trying to plan a trip to the mtns for the end of this month. I think it would be so much fun to get both of our families together for a weekend in the mtns.

A very unproductive week

Well I do not have a lot to update on Rebekah and I have been working very hard to get all the paperwork together. I feel like it just hurry up and wait. We did decide this week that we are planning out first IUI for April. We had originally hoped for March but April seems like a more realistic goal. I know that we will have all of our paperwork together by then and Rebekah is charting and starting the OPK this month so we will have 3 months of charting before the IUI Cycle. Some days April seems like years away and sometimes it seems so soon. (9 weekends not counting this one, Thanks Rebekah)

We still do not have the final paperwork from the STD or the first draft of the contract. I am hoping to have those by this weekend so we can review them and make changes if need and get it back to the attn. next week for the final draft to be typed so we can go and sign.

I am very excited about this weekend and going to the mountains with Friends to just get away and go snow skiing and tubing. I know that we are going to have lots of fun. We have been planning this trip for sometime now and I know that we will have a good time with all of our friends it has been over 5 years since John and I went away for the weekend with Steve and Kelley and we are really looking forward to it. That being said I am also bummed out because this weekend it the Georgia Peach Meet where Surro moms and IP's get together and hang out for lots of fun. I wanted to go with Rebekah to this so that I could meet all her friends in the Surro world but we had our trip planned before we started talking with Rebekah. I am looking forward to going with her to the next surro world meet in Atlanta in May.

I will keep yall posted on what is going on and I hope yall have a great weekend!!

Wow what a week.

Ok so much has been going on since I last posted. We have had a bump in the road that we are now pretty sure we are going to be able to work through. This week has been very stressful for all involved, but I feel that it has brought our bond even closer together. The road up till now has been so smooth and then came to bump about lost wages. All involved were making sure that there families were protected and trying to still make sure that it would work for the other family involved. The solution to the problem.... Short Term. Disability Coverage. Yesterday I spoke with a agent for Illinois Mutual who is going to be getting us a quote on what they have to offer. All of us involved feel that this will be the solution to this bump in the road.

I know that all journeys are going to have there set backs and I am so glad that we have all been able to talk and get through this one. Money is always the hardest thing to talk about. So with this almost being solved we are just that much closer to signing the contract. We should get the first draft of the contract today and then we can all review it and make changes if need, send it back to our attn. and then go down to her office for the signing. One thing that has really helped me through this week with the stress from trying to find the solution is that Rebekah and I have such a open relationship and we can talk about any and everything and I never feel uncomfortable talking to her. We both are active members on surromomsonline.com (she is more active than I am but I am starting to post on there more ofter) That website has really helped us out along this part of the journey we can ask other Surro moms and IP's (Intended parents) questions about there journey and see what way they have gone. We are not the first to go through this and I know that there are others that have been over the same bumps going down this road. There are some amazing people on there!! Without that website Rebekah and I would have never met!!

I want to say thanks to Rebekah for all the chats and emails that she has sent and replied to this week. Without those there would have been times where I felt that there was no solution to the problem and that we were going to have to unmatch but with the help of lots of long talks with Rebekah and suggestions from SMO members we are approaching the end of this bump in the road.

I will keep everyone updated.

We are Officially Matched!!!

We have officially matched with Rebekah as our TS!!! We are so excited and can not wait to keep going on this journey with her!! She is such an amazing woman and we really seem to just click.

We went to our first Dr. Appt yesterday and after doing the exam and looking over our lab work he said that it was a great match. Our appt was at 2:15 and the Dr did not come in till a little after 4:00 and there was never a moment while we were in the room that we did not find something to talk about. It is so easy for me to talk to Rebekah and I know that is going to make this journey so much easier and more enjoyable for all that are involved. So we are to call the Dr on the first day of her next cycle and then we will do the IUI that month (march).

Before we go back to the Dr. we are going to meet with the Attn. and get all the contract papers drawn up and signed. This should go pretty smooth because we have ironed out all but one little detail for the contract and we are working on that one now.

I am very excited and anxious to continue this journey and with such a great TS I know that this will go very smooth and that 2009 is going to be a great year for us all

This is the picture that we took at the Official match meeting!!

official match meeting

Saturday, January 17, 2009

Today was the official meeting (since R and I decided to meet on Wed. we were both to excited to wait) and it went great!!! John and K (R's husband) talked the whole time they really hit it off! It went so smooth, before R and K got there I was telling John that I was nervous to meet K for the first time. Once they got there it was just like we were have a conversation with someone that we had known for a long time. I am so glad that it went so well for us.(not that I was thinking it would go any other way)It feels so good to have the official meeting behind us so now we are ready to go to the next step. After we left from meeting R & K, John said that he was ready for this journey to move on to the next step. (which is good because R and I already sch. the first Dr appt for Monday) That being said I am waiting to hear back from R to see how K felt about us. So it is off to the Dr for R and I on Monday. I will of course post on Monday to let yall know how it went. We are just going to talk to Dr. H about the next step and what he will require from us so that we can keep the ball rolling. (I am preparing a list of questions already)

I am very excited to talk with R and so that we can both officially announce that we are Matched!!!!

Intro.

Most of you who are reading my blog know the road that John and I have been down to build our family. We were very blessed on July 25, 2006 with our son Johnny. Since that day we have been throwing around ideas about what journey our family would go on to build our family even bigger. Surrogacy has always been something that we have talked about. I have been doing research on Surrogacy for sometime now and we have decided that is the road that we will take.

That being said; we started talking to a Surrogate mom a little over a week ago and really hit it off from the start. I have to say that I am very excited about this journey, after talking with her on the phone and through email for around a week now. I had the pleasure of meeting with R (will give her name once we are contracted with her) yesterday afternoon and it really brought the whole situation closer to my heart! R and I have so much in common, we have some of the same thoughts and enjoy a lot of the same things. We have done lots of pre planning and have talked about everything that is involved with this journey and have discussed all the options and which roads we will take. I am very excited and overwhelmed all at once. When we started talking about building our family through surrogacy one of the issues that we were having is that I wanted to be very involved with the doctors appt. and wanted to live close enough that we could go get coffee (R and I both only drink French Vanilla Coffee) on Saturday morning if we wanted to, and since we discovered that R only lives 5 minutes from our office and about 30 minutes from our house we will definitely be able to do all this stuff together.

We are going to get both of our families together on Saturday for our official meeting. That meeting has been scheduled for around a week now but R and I were to excited to wait for Saturday so we decided to meet yesterday. I am so ready for the day when I can tell everyone that we are officially matched and tell you more about her. Once we match and sign our contract we will be able to take the next steps toward building our family. I am so excited that one day soon I will "officially" be able to call R our Surrogate mom!!!

I will be sure to keep everyone updated on our journey!!!
